Day 2 of the No Sugar Challenge
How is it going? Have you purposely not eaten any sugar?
The good news is I haven’t had any sugar or flour….the bad news is I’m having some serious gut issues. Which is a good reminder of WHY I want to not eat sugar (and flour).
Why do you want to not eat sugar for 7 days?
The clearer we can get on this the better. We can use this “why” to help motivate us to not give in to the urge or desire to eat it.
A good way to find your Why (or Compelling reason) is to ask your self why 5 times. This will make sure you get to the real reason why you want to take a break from sugar.
Try not to be judgmental with your reason. There is no wrong answer.
For me, I stopped eating sugar and flour 2 years ago because I have having signs and symptoms of an auto-immune disorder, was pre-diabetic, and had my first flare up of diverticulitis. I didn’t think my diet had much to do with any of these. Boy was I wrong.
I noticed changes in about a week and just decided to keep at it. My results were great. I dropped weight, my hot flashes stopped, my face cleared up, and my mood was very different. Lab results showed changes in the auto immune markers, my A1C was out of the pre diabetic range, and I was only having diverticulitis flare up about once per year!
Please don’t hear me say that I did this perfectly either. I fucked it up many times, and frankly still do. But, each time I do eat sugar and flour I can feel it in my body and I can see the changes in my face, abdomen and on the scale.
Like I have said in other posts, the difference for me now is that I don’t quit or give up on myself. I just keep moving forward. Learning and making changes.
Don’t expect it to be easy or do it perfectly. Just do it. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.
You can do this, I believe in you!
